Available Room for Rent

Huge Room in Prime Crown Heights/Prospect Heights

I've been subletting in this apartment since June and with my roommate moving out of the city to have surgery, I'm looking for someone to sign onto the lease with me starting on October 1. If you'd like to move in earlier than October 1 we can also work out a prorated rent situation for part of September. I've loved living here this summer and hope you'll join me in this cozy home!

The available room is really large and bright, measuring about 13'x12.5' with plenty of room for a queen (or even king!) sized bed, a dresser, and a desk. There is also a door to the hallway that can be used as a private entrance if you'd like, or you can leave it locked as it is currently. My bedroom is on the opposite end of the apartment so we both have lots of privacy.

Utilities are split at about $70 per person for Fios (great speed for wfh!), electric, and gas. We're around the corner from the Park Place S stop which can take you to the Franklin Ave A/C or 2/3/4/5 in just a couple minutes, the Prospect Park Q in about 5 mins, or you can take a 10ish min walk to either Franklin stop. Also close to several bus lines into Downtown Brooklyn. Easy walk to Prospect Park for Saturday markets!

I am an architect and currently working from home but my office is technically open right now. I anticipate I'll be going into the office/on site sporadically in the future. There's plenty of room for a wfh setup either in the living room with me or in your room.

I'm looking for a clean and respectful roommate to share my space, ideally another professional in their mid-late twenties who doesn't bring the party home. I'm generally a homebody (especially in these COVID times) and a decently social introvert, so I'd like someone similar or at least respectful of quiet/alone time. I would like to be friendly with whoever moves in, I like having a drink or a meal every so often and I always share my baked goods, but obviously we all have our own lives.

I have a very sweet and cuddly cat named Louise who also lives here, and I'm open to another cat in the apartment as long as they get along with each other. She's always been an only child but I do think she has a good temperament for another friendly cat. Louise loves people and will definitely snuggle up next to you while watching tv once she gets to know you.

Any combination of LGBTQIA+/BIPOC always welcome, just no smoking or drugs in the apartment please!

Couples are welcome but with an adjusted 2/3-1/3 rent split
