Hello! I'm 27 and I just moved to New York from China, where I've been living for the past five years. Originally from the Chicago area. I'll be working pretty standard office hours Monday-Friday, and I often go to the gym straight from work. I do love to cook, which means the kitchen is well stocked. I'm a long-time vegetarian but have no problem with meat in the apartment as long as roommates are respectful about clean-up. I'm fairly clean and careful to keep public spaces neat, but I certainly won't freak out if dishes are left in the sink for a couple hours. I tend to be quiet when I'm at home, but I'm not super sensitive to noise. I think as long as there's open communication about that stuff, it's usually easy enough to resolve. The only thing I'm really strict about is no smoking in the house. It's not ideological, I just don't like the smell.

I'm looking for a non-smoker female roommate to join me (another female, 27 y/o) in a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment in Bushwick. The apartment is railroad style and the room itself is huge (about 19' x 8'). The room has no windows of its own but gets good light from the very bright kitchen (as seen in the photos), and it also has a big closet with more built-in storage above the closet. I’m planning to have a cat, and I'm hoping to find someone who thinks that's a plus rather than just something to live with. Alternatively, if I have a roommate with a cat, that’s a plus for me and I’m willing to hold off adopting one of my own. The bedroom is unfurnished but the rest of the apartment will be furnished.
As far as transportation goes, it's two blocks from the L and M at Myrtle-Wyckoff and four blocks from the J. There are two giant Food Bazaar grocery stores nearby, each about two and half blocks away, plus several smaller stores even closer. There's a laundromat half a block away, and CVS as well as Duane Reade right under the Myrtle-Wyckoff stop. Heat and hot water are included. I would ask for half the security plus a month of rent in advance of move-in, and I would want you to sign a roommate agreement, though I'll be the only one on the lease. Move-in ideally as close to Feb. 1 as possible. Happy to show the place any time!
