About me: I'm 34 and work from home doing communications for a labor union and also spend a lot of my time outside work organizing with the Democratic Socialists of America, hiking, going to films and shows, and generally enjoying everything LA has to offer. I generally keep it pretty lowkey at home, mostly just having my boyfriend over, but I occasionally like to have friends over for dinner or movie nights or whatever. I'm very open to my roommates also having guests as long as we communicate about it ahead of time. 420 friendly although I don't really partake anymore myself.
I'm ideally looking for someone else with stable work in their 30s who wants to have a friendly relationship with their roommate. (I don't want us to be like ships passing in the night, that's awkward for me and makes open communication difficult.) Open to another cat but no dogs or couples - sorry!
I keep the common areas clean, but I'm also not prickly about it — it won't be the end of the world if you leave a dish in the sink over night, or a personal item on the dining table, etc). I also cook meals for myself regularly and have a fully stocked kitchen in terms of supplies, but there's some room to store more if you have things to contribute.
I've lived in this apartment for going on 13 years with various rotating roommates over the years, and I've always sought to make it feel like a community. I'm generous with my space and I'm looking for someone who has a similar laid back, friendly vibe.

Hey y'all, putting out feelers for a room in Echo Park opening in my house April 1 for $1,200 with a private bathroom.
It is the nicest/largest room in the house with full size bathroom for semi-private use (you don't share it with me, but it is the primary bathroom in the house if there are guests which is not often at all). The other bedroom (mine) has an en-suite bathroom. There is also a third room I use as an office / has a pull out sofa for guests and a closet that all roommates can use for additional storage, with access to another larger storage area from there too. (See photos and captions for more details)
The building is rent controlled and we just got a rent increase starting April 1 so we won't expect another increase for a year. It's a dream location, very close to everything on Sunset but up on a hill so not noisy at all, and walking distance to Elysian Park trails.
