I’m a queer art teacher in my late 30s. I’m a vegetarian, non-smoker, social drinker, bicycle enthusiast, and I’m a general outdoor person. I’ve lived in Brooklyn on and off for years and I have many long-time and new friends here.
Outside of work, I spend my time doing creative and community projects and reading/researching, gardening, seeing art, playing at the dog park, volunteering for (insert lefty thing here), and making art. I would love to have roommates that are part of my community, involved in art or organizing, but I’m open to anyone who is generally clean and respectful.
As a roommate, I am pretty clean (esp in the kitchen and bath), maybe an 8/10- mostly to avoid pests. At home, I'm quiet when I’m doing my own thing, but occasionally like to be social, depending on the space and culture of the apartment. I thrive with direct communication. I’d like to find roommates who are friendly, but I am also super independent and have my own stuff going on.
I come with a perfect dog: a 7-yr old 35 lbs Australian cattle dog/Lab mix. He’s friendly and well-trained and actually perfect. (I have testimonials from former roommates!) He gets along well with other dogs. I am allergic to cats.
It has been really difficult to find a place that allows pets and doesn't already have cats. I’ve been bouncing around to sublets, looking for a long-term room FOR 18 MONTHS! Please consider me!
Let me know if you think we'd be a good fit- thanks!
