I'm Sikh and originally from New Delhi, India but have been living in Philly for the last 6 years. My friends would describe me as easy-going, chill, and independent. In my free time, I like to play soccer, hit the gym, gaming, producing music, and going out. On the weekends, I try to hit a movie, concert or comedy show, and am open to explore NYC together.
I'm a UX Designer by trade, but I'm coming into NYC for my masters at Parsons school of design. During the week, I'm usually in bed by 12 and up by 7. On the weekends, I usually stay up and sleep in late, but am respectful of other people's timings and schedules.
I'm a pretty social person, but I also need my alone time. I want my house to be a place where I can have people over, but not a place that I would want constantly full of people. I'm completely open to the idea of my roommates hosting parties or gatherings - I would just like to know about these ahead of time. I'm down to get to know each other, but again respectful of your boundaries.
I like to keep common living spaces clean. I try to do my dishes regularly and put away my belongings when I get home from work. I'm open to the idea of a cleaning schedule to keep things organized.
My monthly budget ranges around $1500-2000, and I'm looking to move in sometime early August. I would like my own bedroom, and I'm open to living with 1-3 more people if it helps accommodate a bigger space and/or cheaper rent. If the bedrooms are sized differently enough to justify different prices, I'm happy to negotiate and would prefer staying in the larger or smaller room.
Here are some quirks and relevant information: I do love my silence when working at home and just ask to be respectful of each other's time and space. But I'm also very easy get along on that regard as I've had experience having lived with room-mates for 4 years. I also enjoy playing my music sometimes as I work out indoors or am making my own beats so would love flexibility on sound as long as we can work out something which suits both of us. I'm fine with drinking and smoking inside the house, as I intend to do the same occasionally.
