Two women looking for someone to fill third room of a duplex apartment who shares values of sustainable, healthy living, clear communication, community, and service. It is a large room in a beautiful old brownstone building in Motthaven historic district which maintains its original charm. The room has ample closet space, beautiful wood floors, and we have a backyard. We enjoy having regular community dinners, cooking together, and generally sharing space while also respecting each other's need for privacy. Our home is our sanctuary, and we look forward to inviting another person who shares our intentions into it!
The landlord does not allow pets although there is a dog in the building. :-).

A beautiful, warm ground floor room is available now for rent in an early 20th century, four-floor brownstone in Mott Haven, designated a historic district of the South Bronx. The apartment is a duplex. The other residents live upstairs: you are the only person on the bottom floor and have your own entrance. located just one block away from the 6 line train on 138 Street and 3rd Avenue. We are only 25 minutes from Grand Central Station by train. Parking on the street is available. 6 months minimum stay.
• 3 bedrooms total, a large kitchen/dining room and a guest bedroom/shared library
• 1 bedrooms available (Single Room)
• 1 ½ bathrooms
We have a backyard, dishwasher and WiFi.
A spacious, grounding room
The spacious room has two windows, ample closet space, and shares a lovely huge kitchen and bathroom with the other two residents, both women in their 30s. Every spring, a beautiful pink hued rose bush springs to life next to the room bringing forth color and life. You can work, rest and rejuvenate in this quiet place. The bedroom is furnished or unfurnished -whatever works best for you.

About us:
You will be sharing an apartment with two friendly women in their 30s who are looking for someone who shares values of sustainable, healthy living, composting, clear communication, community engagement, and service. We value community but also privacy. We are people of faith, and welcome people of all faiths or no faith. We aim to engage neighbors and other interested individuals in our living space for occasional community dinners where we discuss community life, social justice issues, and an array of other issues affecting our world, and exchange ideas on how we can make a positive impact. Your participation is optional, but will be appreciated should you decide to attend :-) In addition to a guest bed, we have a shared library.
Monthly costs: $900 rent plus electric, gas utilities and wifi.
Interviews will be held weekends or weekday evenings after 6 PM.
Note: Interviewees should come prepared with ID, proof of income, and references. If you can't keep your appointment, we will gladly reschedule, but PLEASE notify us 24 hours in advance, otherwise, your slot will be given to the next prospective applicant.
