About Me

I'm a recent grad from Minneapolis, MN, relocating to NYC in the fall. I studied history in college with an emphasis on the history of American medicine and public health, and am hoping to go to medical school in a couple of years. I'm particularly interested in issues of substance use/harm reduction and am currently doing research remotely on syringe service programs and safe injection sites.

While in NYC, I'll be working for the CDC in Long Island City. How much of my position will be in-person remains to be seen, but I expect I'll be going into work at least a few days a week. I would like to live within a 30ish minute subway commute from work, so ideally somewhere in Astoria, Greenpoint, or Williamsburg. My start date is in mid-Oct, so I'm hoping to move sometime between mid-Sept and early Oct.

I'm hoping to find a roommate (or two, or three) that are around my age, vaccinated, and lgbtq+ friendly. I would like to be friends and explore the city with the people I live with, but simply sharing a space is also fine! I am hoping to make the most out of my two gap years, and have as much fun as COVID will allow!
