Room for rent in a cozy, artsy apartment

Hi all! I’m renting out the spare room in my two bedroom apartment beginning August th. The room is furnished with a twin sized bed and dresser with a mirror on top. The room also has a spacious closet and gorgeous sunlight.

The apartment building is pleasantly located on Pleasant Avenue in East Harlem. It is rich in cultural history and community and fortunately quiet in terms of heavy car traffic. There is an elevator in the building making heavy laundry and moving in / out quite manageable.

A little about me-
I’m a mixed media artist in my early ’s. I identify as a straight female but am LGBTQ friendly and open to all genders / lack of. I do not personally partake in but it is not something I have a problem with. Cigarettes and hard drugs are a no no however. I work weekend nights as a restaurant manager so am not in the home during those times. I occupy the space entranced in my creative practice Tuesday-Thursday. Two sweet cats that are completely in love with each other also live in the space.

About you-
I’m looking for someone who is stable with a secure sense of their values. Ideally you work Mon- Friday so that we may not crowd each other in the space. That is not to say that us overlapping and engaging in dialogue is not also embraced. I like tenants that are on the quieter side in terms of social activity in the home but occasional guests are welcome so long as they are respectful.

To move in, I ask for first month’s rent and a one month security deposit. The rent includes the utilities of heat, hot water, gas, electricity and Wi-Fi. The arrangement is month to month but so long as one month’s notice is given, the security deposit will be promptly returned upon you moving out.
