I am a quiet, curious, liberal intellectual. I have two good friends, a few places I like to go to and read, sip my glass of wine with a small meal, and observe people. I had a wonderful dog, an Italian greyhound, I absolutely adored,
(I'm pretty sure it was mutual), but at fifteen years there was suddenly a change in him- he lost all of the energy and vigor he'd always had, and I knew that though it was incredibly difficult to face, his time was simply over and I had to put him to sleep. That was 2 years ago and still I have some hurt. I don't know when or if the time will come that I will get another.
Meantime, I very much enjoy the sun and the moon, plants, nature, gardening if I can. Amazingly I have a mother not far away in assisted living who is turning 95 tomorrow!
I speak to her twice daily, see her with a friend on Sundays for dinner. It is also on my mind that I want to be in a group with some others who have elderly parents. We know they will pass eventually and it will not be easy.
I sleep pretty well nighty, and very much relish having some quiet. I am not the right one to attempt to be around strong noise, tension, upheaval. Calm and peace are greatly valued by me.
