House highlights: 4200 square foot, 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms. Hardwood floors, large kitchen with quartz countertops, two full size refrigerators, two large screen televisions, top-of-the-line mesh WiFi network, deck and patio with water feature, woods behind property.

Room: Choice of 125 square foot front-facing room, or 150 square foot side-facing room. Private bathroom.

You: Non-smoker, non-drug user. No pets. No serious criminal record. LGBT-friendly. Mature, responsible, respectful of others.

We are a gay male couple looking for another roommate (male or female) to share our home with us. We currently have a female roommate who plans to keep living with us for a while, and another roommate who is moving out to live alone. We are looking for someone to fill the room being vacated by our other roommate.

Our house is located in the Forest Heights / Northwest Heights neighborhood in northwest Portland, in the hills immediately west of Forest Park. The neighborhood has miles of hiking trails through wooded areas, and a five-minute drive will bring you to the trailheads of Forest Park. The house is within walking distance of a small shopping center that has a coffee shop, Pizzicato pizza restaurant, and other businesses. The neighborhood is situated with convenient commuting access east to downtown, the Pearl, and the Northwest District, or west to Beaverton, Hillsboro, Nike, Intel, and the Silicon Forest.

You may pick one of two upstairs bedrooms: either a front-facing one that measures 9’ 8” x 13’ and has a lovely view of the wooded hillsides of the neighborhood; or a side-facing one that measures 10’ 8” x 13’ 11” and overlooks a cul-de-sac, and beyond that the green space behind our neighbors’ houses. Whichever room you don’t pick will be unoccupied. The upstairs hallway bathroom will be your private bathroom.

Notable features of the shared spaces in the house include: hardwood floors; elegantly-furnished common areas including a library, formal dining room, living/family room, kitchen, kitchenette/breakfast nook, media room; the formal dining room can seat up to ten; the large kitchen includes quartz countertops, a huge island with built-in range, and plenty of storage space; two full size refrigerators (one of them less than a year old); two large-screen televisions (one in the living/family room and one in the media room); a beautiful backyard with a deck, multi-level patio, waterfall-style water feature, and wooded green space behind it; a top-of-the-line mesh WiFi network that blankets the house in high-speed Internet access and which reaches every corner of the property; and a laundry room. The house is 4200 square feet, and has a total of six bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and one half bathroom.

Our other roommate lives down the hall from the room you would be renting. We live in the ground floor master bedroom. We use one of the bedrooms as a home office, and the remaining two bedrooms are guest rooms that we have only used a few times a year at most (and not at all in the past year).

Our roommates have the option, at our discretion and with advance notice, to rent one of the guest rooms for a visitor for up to ten consecutive nights, for $25 per night.

We enjoy working out (weights and cardio), hiking, vegan food, wine, technology, travel, and many other interests. One of us is an avid cook, and we eat vegan food at home. You do not need to be vegan. We tend to be fairly neat and tidy, and prefer roommates who would also like to keep the shared space clean. Prior to the pandemic we did like to occasionally have quiet, sedate social gatherings and parties, and we hope that once everyone in the house and our guests are vaccinated, we can eventually do that again.

We are mature, responsible, respectful of others, and fairly quiet, and we are looking for someone who is the same. Absolutely no illegal drugs or smoking of any kind inside or outside the house. No pets. No serious criminal record. You must be LGBT-friendly.

This is a 12 month lease that converts to a month-to-month. Monthly rent is $950, and a $950 refundable security deposit is also due at move-in. All utilities are included in the rent: high-speed Internet; Netflix; natural gas; electricity; water; sewer; garbage and recycling.
