Hey friends! My name is Jonathan Meythaler and I am a 26 year old male looking for a roomate to fill an empty room I have in the Upper West Side. Rent for the open room is $2200. 12 month renters only please.
The apartment is on the upper west side, w 82nd street between Amsterdam and Columbus. It’s a two bed, one bath, has a dishwasher, is on the third floor, has an elevator, and laundry/bike storage are in the basement. All of the cabinets, refrigerator, microwave, oven, and stove are new. The rooms face the courtyard which is great to avoid street noise and gets a lot of natural sunlight. Both rooms are the same size (13x8), but the room for rent is the one with the closet built in (two pics of the room show a desk and bunk beds). Can fit a Queen Bed depending on the size of the frame, but can definitely fit a full sized bed.
This is my favorite neighborhood to live in NYC! Tons of fun bars and restaurants on both Columbus and Amsterdam. 82nd street itself is super quiet and beautifully lined with trees. On weekends, there’s a farmers market right around the corner on Columbus. We are a 5 minute walk away from Central Park, Riverside Park, and the Hudson River Path along the water (all great for walking, picnics, bike riding and running). Similar 5 minute walk to the Museum of Natural History, various supermarkets, 1 2 3 trains (closest stops on 72, 79, 86, 96 along Broadway), and B C trains (closest stops on 72, 81, 86, 96 along Central Park West). There’s also plenty of Citibike docks which is how I usually get around, and great to take for a ride in Central Park or along the water.
A bit about me. I grew up in NYC, went to Middlebury College for my undergrad and have spent the last 5 years living in Hells Kitchen. I work in Foreign Exchange Payments (can bore you with those details later), love to run, bike, play soccer, go to bars and restaurants, cook, and spend time with friends. My ideal summer Saturday is a picnic day in Central Park with friends (food, drinks, music, games, and a dog if we are lucky).
The room is available as early as May 25th, but definitely flexible for a later start date, preferably the second weekend of June. There is no broker fee, but would require first and last months rent upfront, along with proof of employment and all that good stuff. Hoping for a longer term renter (12ish months), but can be flexible for more or less
