Lauren studied creative writing and English at the University of Mississippi and wrote stories with her close friends in her teenage and college years. Lauren appreciated reading the works of other authors while working as a State Capitol Police Officer in her home state. Unfortunately, she developed two disabling cancers over the course of her employment and had to leave her favorite position. While undergoing chemotherapy, she discovered that writing brought light back into her life and made her very happy. She decided to complete a novel while recovering from her treatments in New England and wrote her first book there. An online magazine reached out to Lauren to see if she would be interested in writing short stories and lifestyle articles for them on a voluntary basis. Lauren was thrilled to write for Scribe Magazine and set publishing her novel to the side for a time.
After encouragement from several other authors and writers, Lauren decided to publish her first book, Nova’s Playlist, independently. She also adopted a kitten someone had tossed out into the rain on Veteran's Day inside of a cardboard box. His name is Wi-fi because he likes to sleep next to the Wi-Fi router. Lauren does not have children and is a goal-driven individual. She desires to return up North because there is more opportunity for advancement in her field of expertise. She does have the ability to purchase a vehicle, but given the high traffic and congested parking in NYC, she feels opting for a monthly train pass is a better option.
