I am a pretty laid back person. I enjoy watching some TV but I do not follow the news. I am a Democrat but I don't really follow the news as a rule. I am at home a lot these days because I am recovering from back surgery. I am a Peer Support Specialist and work in Mental Health. I am hoping to return to work in the next 3 months. I am usually up be 5:00 am and try to get to sleep around nine. I am willing to adjust my schedule to accommodate my roommates schedule. I like to be social with my roommates and am hoping to find someone interested in sharing a meal or two. I would also like to find someone who is open to playing games and such.
I have a lot to offer (see other sections). My apartment is older but has a lot of room. It was recently updated inside with new carpets, new paint and new furniture. Furniture in the living room is new.
I have an elderly cat named Taz. He is skittish but can be friendly once he gets to know a person.

Roommate Ad
I am a 58-year-old female, quiet but social, college educated and trained as a Peer Support Specialist. Aside from personal/professional activities, appointments or errands, I am frequently home. I have an elderly cat, so unfortunately, no other pets are appropriate. I am independent, yet currently recovering from back surgery, and use some recovery aids such as a cane and shower chair.
I wish to share my 2-bedroom,1 bathroom apartment located in a nice area of Milwaukie. It is easily walkable to public transportation including a bus to downtown Milwaukie for events such as Saturday Market. Milwaukie is also a major rail hub for transit to and from downtown Portland.
Recent updates include new paint, new carpet and new blinds. New living room recliners have been added plus a large TV. The apartment includes a kitchen and dining area, living room and outdoor deck; carport parking is included.
The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, air fryer and a kitchen table; cabinetry and shelving are shared. The communal spaces are mostly furnished and can be enjoyed with warmth in the colder months and air conditioning during the summer months. A fan, + air cooler is located in the front bedroom. There is a washer/dryer in the unit, with shared storage in the laundry closet as well.
I welcome a roommate that on occasion, may enjoy shared activities (games, movies), or who will share a meal now and then, yet also appreciates each other’s privacy. I also desire a roommate who is neat in general, and who will share in the cleaning and maintenance of the communal areas on a weekly basis, as well as share in supplies such as cleaning, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
The rent is $682 a month. Utilities including water, trash, sewer and PG &E, plus Internet and living room TV programming are included, approximately $250 a month is shared 50/50. For simplicity, a total of $800 is paid to cover both rent and other costs. Renters insurance is required of each occupant residing in the apartment and is paid separately.
The application process includes a fee of $65.00 for reference and background check. Upon approval the remaining months’ rent, $375.00 security deposit, plus a signed lease, is also required. It is important to let you know that rent and other charges are adjusted annually at the end of July.
