A room is opening in our three-bed, two-bath apartment in Bushwick, and one of the bathrooms is all yours! Second floor walk up, no elevator. We have in-unit laundry, a dishwasher, roof access, a microwave, and remote-controlled AC units in each room. Two minute walk to B26 bus, six-minute walk to Halsey L, thirteen-minute to Myrtle M, and fifteen to Halsey J. We’re less than a block from Irving Square Park—plenty of green space, trees, and there’s a beautiful cafe park adjacent. The spacious room could easily fit a king-sized bed! The room has a double door closet, beautiful exposed brick, and a large sliding glass door facing the backyard.
We are approaching our third year in this apartment! We love to keep our space clean, organized, and vibey (incense, as much natural light as possible, music is very welcome (as appropriate)) and are hoping for someone who feels the same. Shoes off inside, less than 24-hour dish policy, a heads up text before bringing guests is asked and with as much notice as possible, and we do our best to create a balance between roommates for things like vacuuming, taking out the trash, etc. Kind and open communication is preferred, and we’ve found it helpful to do regular check-ins to ensure we all feel good about the flow of things. We have lots of plants and love natural light! We're happy to rearrange things in the shared space to accommodate your belongings so the space feels cozy to everyone. There is a bar cart in the shared space.

About us:
Ash (they/them), 30, trans-masc, leftist, stoner, neat-freak, originally from Boston but I've been living in Bushwick since 2015. I primarily work from home as a Photoshop Artist Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. When the weather is nice I spend a lot of time on the roof or at the park on our block. I love bringing people together for coworking, smoke seshes, and festive gatherings. I check in with these things ahead of time and always clean up afterward. I usually require COVID tests for larger gatherings. Not bringing the party home or hosting things late at night during the week, though. I also like to host friends and fam from Boston occasionally - guests usually stay on a pull-up bed in my room with me. I cook most of my meals at home but am typically swift in the kitchen and clean as I cook. I love a pals-type dynamic with roommates where we can chitchat and hang out when we have the energy but are not relying on one another for socializing. I've lived with many people in the past and am still friendly with most. I have a lot of fun funky color-changing (GOVEE) lights throughout the space and love to play around with different colors/vibes. App for lights can be used on anyone's phone!
Margo (she/they), 37, full-time student + employed full-time. that said! when not at work i’m usually in my room with face in books; chasing deadlines and creating space to tend to the balance of self / study / work. my home is my happy place—i’m a big time home body and so harmony in the home is important to me. i tend to lean on the minimalist side of things and feel happiest in spaces that feel organized, clean, kept, and tended to with a mindful eye. my favorite area of the home is the kitchen as i love to cook (though i usually batch cook once per week) and i’m most present in either my room or the kitchen. i’m a pretty quiet creature who’s most comfortable in intimate gatherings though social folks are so welcome here. it feels warm to have people in the home while i’m tucked away studying! i love to nerd over all things food, science, spiritual jargon, i cross-stitch, read and write a lot, i love nature and love being outside. raised in california, have lived in brooklyn, manhattan, north carolina, and have traveled a fair bit. i’m in a long distance relationship, too, with a beautiful human who is from and resides in canada. she visits every few months or so and it’s important to me that our next roommate feels good about having partner visits for 7-10 days at a time.
