About Me

About me: 23 years old. Work in hospitality, late nights. Tidy/ clean habits. No pets/ smoking/drinking/ drugs. I'm quiet (not noisey). Usually I'm working or resting in my room most of the time. Any more info about me you would want to know is probably already touched upon below. Don't be shy, let's connect and see if things can work for between us as future roommates.

-AGE:23 years old. born and raised in NYC.

-WORK: I work in hospitality FOH, at a restaurant in Nomad.

-LOCATION: My main concern is getting to work so any listing near the following train lines works for me: F/M/J/L/A/C/4/5/B/D/R/N/Q/1/2/3.That said, the neighborhoods I'm looking at the most are often: bushwick, bed stuy, williamsburg, ridgewood, astoria, prospect heights, park slope, gowanus, windsor terrace, kensington, fort greene, downtown brooklyn, long island city, flatbush, sunset park.

-ClEANLINESS: I'm pretty Tidy. I clean up after myself. I am very reasonable and understanding when it comes to cleanliness, but a clean home is always nice to have, and would love to live with someone who who also values the sanity that a clean space can provide. I'm not a cleaning nazi by nature. But if we can keep it reasonably clean by working together to at the least clean up after ourselves that would be great! but taking turns to keep the kitchen and bathroom clean every once in a while would be cool too. I'm proactive about buying soap, TP, paper towels, etc; but I can't be the only one doing that. I do cut my own hair at home (I usually shave my head and beard 1-2 times a month in the bathroom), but obviously I clean it up afterwards. I wash my dishes either right after I eat, or same day, and they might hang out on the drying rack for a bit, but their wont be endless dirty dishes in the sink on my end.

-SCHEDULE: I work till late so I do get home late. I'm usually tired from work and at that point, so I will just eat dinner and shower and go to bed. maybe I'll watch something on my phone with head phones on as I eat dinner in the common area or in my room after I shower. I had a knee injury that is still affecting me a little bit so I do a calisthenics work out at home 1-2 times a week to stay ahead of my injury and stay healthy. and I take an epsom salt bath 1-2 times a week for total duration of 20-120 min per week. I work in hospitality so my days off are all over the place. So that means you would probably have the place to yourself saturday and or sunday, because I would be working till late then. Noise issues have been an issue for me in the past with other roommates keeping me up. I try to be reasonably quiet past 10pm, and I want to live with others who can do the same (no loud music, parties or video games past 10pm).

-EATING:I cook for myself at home for financial and health reasons. I usually cook 1 meal every 1-2 weeks and it lives in the fridge ready for me to eat it. basically meal prepping. Think a big container of soup, or a stew, a curry with rice, burritos, marinaded faro "salad". stuff like that. so I cook 1-2 times a week in big batches. it lives in the fridge, and I either eat it cold or reheat it. I'm pretty tidy after I'm done cooking. My meal prepping does take up some fridge/ cabinet space, so be prepared to expect me to occupy some fridge space due to my home cooking. I won't dominate the fridge at all, but just want you to be aware.

-GUESTS:I won't have guests over hardly ever. the only time I bring guests over is a family member or close friend may come over briefly to use the bathroom or for a glass of water. Or if I have a lady friend over as an overnight guest. You are welcome to live your life, it will be your apartment too after all, just please be reasonable. absolutely loud parties all the time! And I will be upset if I wake up and there is a stranger sleeping on our couch that I wasn't notified about.

-VALUE COMMUNICATING: I value communication!! I need to live with someone who is mature enough to be able to talk about any issues we're having, so that we can make this work, but hopefully even enjoy living together! Communication solves most problems, Ability to communicate is a must for me! If something I'm doing bothers you... Let's talk about it and reach an understanding. I wouldn't hesitate to talk with you if you were bothering me. so i expect you would be able to do the same with me. A problem cant be fixed if we don't talk about it first. I'm also down to having a monthly or bi-monthly check in, for us to sit down and touch base and address and things we want to make clear or get off our chests.

-SOCIAL EXPECTATIONS: I mostly stay in my room when I'm not at work. Im very friendly, but I'm happy to just live with someone else, we don't need to force it to be too social all the time. If you're in the room, and want to talk I'm happy to chat, but you do not need to force yourself to be my best friend all the time. as long as you're polite too that works for me. And Again, I mostly work and stay in my room.

-COVID: have 2 shots of moderna and will only live with someone who is vaccinated as well. I am vaccinated and wear a mask on the subway. I would want to live with someone who does the same, but I'm not looking to live with someone who expects me to live in a state of half quarantine all the time. Someone who is very strict and scared about covid wouldn't work for me. I live my life and try to take reasonable steps to not catch or spread covid, and I want someone who does the same, but isn't more strict about it than that, within reason.

-VICE: no drinking, smoking, or drugs of any kind from me. I wont judge you, just please please be reasonable about your habits. e cigarettes are fine in the house. I have no pets, but I'm open to living with pets possibly.

-HOBBIES: I love to listen to music on spotify either aloud at a reasonable volume in my room or with headphones on. When the money is good I like to go thrifting for clothes or try new spots to eat. Im into taking care of my health, so cooking a batch of something tasty and healthy for myself for to eat/ reheat throughout the week is something I try to force myself to make the time to do/ fit into my routine. I do my exercises when I'm motivated to do so in my spare time, to stay healthy. I also love to ride citi bike for cardio at least once a week. I also love to get out of the house and see friends and family in my free time. reading books never went out of style as far as I'm concerned. Love to read. That said I am a bit of a workaholic, and I'm usually working, or resting in my room.
