Maddi D - $1,000/month

I am a 27-year-old that is looking for a private bedroom in Brooklyn or Queens; my ideal move-in date is the last week of July and the latest I can move in is August 1. I am hoping to find a place where I would be able to stay a little longer than a year, as I will need time to get my ducks in a row after my service with Americorps ends in August, 2022. My budget is $1000 a month tops.

I would like a fairly calm and clean household. I like to keep to myself a lot of the time, but I am also open to having a good time with my roommates! I am ok with having guests over as long as they aren’t around 24/7. I am okay with small parties every once in a while, I would just prefer to know ahead of time. I expect to be at home during the evening on the weekdays, though this can change as I’m not completely sure what my work schedule will be like. I generally like to spend my weekends resting at home, but I’m sure I will be out and about a lot as well.I am originally from Washington State and this will be my first time in New York, so I will definitely be doing a lot of exploring!

When I’m unwinding at home I tend to curl up and watch TV, I may also choose to work on knitting, or do some yoga. When I’m going out I enjoy going on walks, listening to live music, trying new food (and coffee!!!), and experiencing new places (favorites include: museums, parks, cafes). I always clean up any mess that I make, and I clean my dishes by the end of the day. As for deep cleaning of common spaces, I prefer to work this out with my roommates, to ensure that everybody is contributing and nobody is doing all of the work. However, I am happy to adapt to any system that you already have in place.
