About Me

I will be moving to New York for a job at a company called Carto in Manhattan. I’m hoping to bike commute there but we shall see. They do a variety of geospatial data analysis for all sorts of companies and I'm incredibly excited about the role. I've been obsessed with maps and location data for a while and I just think there's so many cool things that we can learn from it and do with it.

About me: When I'm not working, I'm often doing a mix of exploring, cycling, sometimes cooking, reading, sometimes going to live music, and a variety of other things. I’m 34 yo and I've lived for a good amount of time in Colombia, Mexico, and Germany. I've also traveled for significant periods of time in India and New Zealand. As much as I've enjoyed traveling, I'm feeling like the next era of my life will be a bit more work and rooting-down focused. In NYC, I would love to check out the salsa dancing, swing dancing, Acro yoga, cycling, and various other scenes. I'm sad to move away from my friends and family but also really excited to get a chance to live there and embrace city life again.

Housing experience and wants: As I've lived with so many different types of roommates over the last 10-15 years, I'm definitely used to many parts of living with other people. I clean up after myself after I cook, I help with random chores like bathroom cleaning, I keep noise down at random hours (as sleeping well is important for everything else!). I don't leave random things around the house. If anything goes wrong - I definitely know how to be a good and kind communicator. I would generally like to live in a place where people are down to at least be acquaintances but I've also lived in places where you don't really talk to the roommates. I am mostly just looking for a stable, clean, and friendly place to live. As much as I like cooking alone it's more fun to cook or share with other people. I recently got into sour dough making and hope to keep learning more about bread making.

This has gotten quite long so I'll end it here but please let me know if you have any more questions or would like to consider having me as a roommate. If for some reason, we don’t end up being roommates, I’m also just looking for new friends. So feel free to reach out if we have some things in common and you would like to hang out.
