I am a 27-year-old woman moving back to Brooklyn after being away for a year due to the pandemic (graduated grad school, couldn't get a job due to covid, moved home). I WFH full-time as a game designer for a company in Australia and will start adjuncting as a games history teacher at NYU in the fall. I'm very clean, enjoy cooking/baking/sewing, and keep my spaces tidy and bright - my partner jokes that I'm always trying to optimize spaces (it's the game designer in me). After a year quarantining in Virginia, I can't wait to get my second vaccine shot and see people again (safely!), but chill bar/coffee shop hangouts, or having a few people over for couch co-op games, are more my speed than staying up all night. I am also an amateur historian and care a lot about the history of a neighborhood/how to help marginalized people in that neighborhood advocate for what they need, whether that's mutual aid, a bail fund, or environmental justice. I don't use Instagram, but you can check out my Twitter if you want to get a better sense of me: https://twitter.com/lizbetballou.
I am looking for someone who's clean, respectful, pays the rent on time, likes cats, and cares about their community. Being in a creative field is a plus. We don't need to be best friends, but I'd love it if we had some common interests and made/went out for dinner sometimes! LGBTQ+friendly, and all genders, sexualities, ethnicities, etc. welcomed. Because of the home office, this is a great deal for someone who also works from home a lot. No couples, and no extra animals, sorry - I'd love more personally, but Graymalkin is deathly afraid of dogs and Biscuit gets territorial around other cats.
I will have some common area furniture, so you can contribute some as well. I'm also planning on thifting some.
