Hi,
I am a 30-year old male statistician who recently moved to New York from Los Angeles. I am looking for a roommate or two to share a 2 (or 3) bedroom apartment. Money seems to go a lot further here if you live with somebody else. I am looking primarily at in Brooklyn -- Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bedstuy, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights--not necessarily in that order. I would consider Bushwick or Ridgewood but it's not really my first choice. I'd also consider Manhattan if a place presents itself. I am pretty easy going and enjoy having fun. I enjoy hosting and throwing dinner parties on occasion and generally being social. I have a few friends in the city but am certainly looking to make more considering I just moved here. My hobbies in no particular order include photography, art, skiing, playing sports, watching sports, exploring the city, watching movies, seeing music, drinking (on occasion ofc) and trying to distract myself from my boring ass job. I also am kinda a nerd for things like public policy and economics and other dumb intellectual pursuits. I'm definitely in the top 5% of statisticians when it comes to having fun. Probably about average when it comes to doing statistics.
I am looking at leases that start on or around 11/01/2026 and have a max budget of $2,200/month per bedroom. There seem to be some decent places in my aforementioned neighborhoods available in the ~$1,700 per person. I am preferably looking for someone to find a place with but am open to joining someone's existing lease. I do not currently have any furniture with me. One thing that is super important to me is that the apartment gets good light (for nyc). Some outdoor space and dishwasher would be cool too. In general I am a clean and courteous roommate but I am generally on the chiller side rather than the OCD type A side. If you think we might be decent fits as housemates feel free to reach out.
Best,
Matthew
