Hi all! My name is Chanel, please call me Chanel! I shorten my name because I like a sense of privacy being on social media. I'm an artist and activist sustaining myself via restaurants and cafes. I'm really big on face-to-face communication. I hope that didn't die out! Basically I assume that speaking to someone directly gives you a better picture of who they are! I like chore schedules, making jokes, cooking, yoga, and just being myself. I am black, and if that makes you uncomfortable, stick with that and move on. I really care about keeping things tidy, hence the chore schedule. I love plants, and I love animals. There are no pet fees in our building if that is of interest to you! Our building is right next to Maria Hernadez Park, everything you'd need and want a block away. Closest to the Jefferson L. We have roof access with couches, benches, and padded flooring. We also have AC and heating! My basic needs from a roommate is that they aren't fragile, that they know how to carry themselves as a cooperative adult, that they are tidy, and we have a vibe good enough for living together without hostility. Bonuses include if you've divested from capitalism, are diligent about recycling, and have lots of plants! My ideal first week would be to discuss together quiet hours, chore scheduling, and how to handle shared house supplies.
