So this is a great in-law suite/English basement, perfect for a young professional, college student etc. All utilities and wi-fi are included. Off street parking is also an option. You have your own separate entrance, with a shared stairway/door, yet this will not be utilized unless there is a need for maintenance or by roommate request. I recently completed the renovation of the basement with the idea of my mother utilizing it far in the future. It is fully furnished and ready to go for an individual who may travel, have school local but residency elsewhere or traveling workers. I am flexible on the lease time, whether it be 6 or 12 months. I have a 1-year-old Great Dane/ Husky mix who is the kindest big guy (90 lbs), yet whomever rents the basement needs to know the backyard (primary apartment entrance) will be shared and the roommate must commit to keeping all gates/doors closed just so this curious little guy doesn’t wander. Other than that, I work from home as a telehealth psychotherapist and my teen also is utilizing virtual learning. We are a pretty quiet crew who like to laugh and deeply enjoy the arts. We are hoping that a whomever rents the basement is respectful of the peaceful home we keep and finds us to be great neighbors.
We are a single-family home with a front and backyard, so we feel like we are somewhere more residential yet I promise we are in DC. There are several bus lines within a block or two, Brookland metro is a little over a mile away, cute little eateries and stores on 12th street, Catholic University/ Howard University/ CNMC/ WHC/ Veterans Hospital are all within a walk away. We have close access to the new Costco, Lowes, Dicks, and entrance to New York Avenue that feeds into BW Parkway and 295.
