I am seeking a roommate for a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment in Ridgewood, Queens.

Your bedroom is 11.0 ft x 10.75 ft and can accommodate a queen size bed. It has exposed brick, a large closet, ceiling fan, and a large skylight which opens for fresh air (no windows). There are transom windows to allow more light into the room.

The apartment is on the 2nd / top floor—no one lives above us. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment and don’t share a wall. There is a shared open plan living room with exposed brick, a mud room/shared closet near the entryway, a kitchen with a gas range, dishwasher and large island, and 1 shared bathroom with a skylight and a shower. The apartment was renovated recently with a sleek, minimal / modern aesthetic with white walls and grey faux wood floors throughout.

Each room has it’s own AC unit. Radiant heating is controlled by the landlord. All utilities are included except hi speed internet which is $25/month each and gas for the stove (approx $25/mo or less). There is laundry in the building: $2/wash + $2/dry.

You will have 1 roommate (me!). I am a 40 year old single gay guy. I have lived in NYC over 20 years. I am a producer for a theater in Brooklyn. I take yoga almost daily and am a pescatarian. I’m not a sports fan but the US Open is my jam. I am currently binging Andor. I am securely sober but I don’t want to smell weed at home. I love cats but I have a mild allergy and prefer not to live with them. The building does not allow dogs.

Home is sanctuary. I love plants and chill vibes. I like casual kitchen conversations and I’ll try to cook for you at some point but we don’t need to be best friends. I prefer to keep common areas clean.

Ideally, my future roommate is queer or queer friendly, sober, 30+, tidy and has lived in NYC for more than a year. But I am flexible so if this doesn’t describe you exactly please don’t hesitate to reach out. What’s most important is respect and forward communication. All genders welcome.
