About Me

I'm a 29-year-old gay man who hails from Tennessee, but has been a Bushwick resident for the past 7 years. I've got a dog named Pippin who's super friendly and loves to cuddle. I work as a project manager at a tech company and work full time from home now, but in my spare time I love to go out dancing on the weekends, have friends over to grill out in the back yard, go hiking, and travel.

I'm super social and love hanging out with people, but also very much respectful of other people's space and energy. And I'm looking for a new roommate! Is it you?

Available Room for Rent

Massive basement room in Bushwick duplex

About the apartment:

The room available for sublet is an enormous basement room with a private half bathroom and access to the back yard.

We live in a ground floor duplex off the Dekalb stop on the L and Knickerbocker stop on the M, both of which are less than 30 minutes from Manhattan. There’s a backyard, a shared downstairs work and storage area, and a pretty large living room. Oooh, and there’s also a dishwasher (game changer)!

We’re in the heart of Bushwick and surrounded by a TON of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. There are two laundromats a block away too. Our neighborhood is a good mix of younger people and families, and has always felt safe and friendly.

About Kate and I:

I’m a 29yo gay man, I work as a project manager at a tech startup. I love to go out dancing, hiking, travel, and play video games.

Kate is a 28yo woman who works in textile print design, is an avid reader and loves to kick it in the hammock out back with a good book.

We’re both currently working at home full time. We love to cook, hang out and watch tv, kick it in the back yard with drinks, or have movie nights. We invite lively chats and laughs, but also like to be mindful of noise at a decent hour (specifically during the weekdays). We’re also 420 friendly!

I have a small dog, Pippin, who’s extremely and loves to cuddle and hang out with people. We’re not necessarily looking for another dog in the space, but would be open to it given the right situation!

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a third person who’d like to stay long term and is a nice addition to the chill vibe we’ve tried to curate in the apartment. We call our space the Lighthouse (clock the photo of the living room), and we've worked really hard to make it bright and inviting, and a healthy and happy home for ourselves. We would prefer someone that clicks and likes to hang out and be social, but that’s not a must. However, some MUSTS for us include:
- Cleaning up after yourself and being respectful and mindful of common spaces. We’re uninterested in having to come behind people and clean up, or constantly address messes being left in the common living areas
- Proof of employment
- At least one prior roommate recommendation (preferably more)

We’re open to all gender identities, orientations, skin colors, etc. - we just ask that you be chill, respectful, mindful, and we’ll get along great!
