Looking for a roommate in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, The Bronx, Jersey City / Hoboken - New York

Elie E - $1,300/month

About Me

Currently based on the border of Harlem and Washington Heights, I’m looking for a new place to call home by the end of August when my long-term sublet comes to an end.

I’m leaving my place at the end of August, but willing to secure a place sooner than required.

At a youthful fifty-something, I’m the founder of MetroHike.com—a passion project that grew from my love of urban exploration and storytelling. We specialize in historical walking tours, educational programs for schools, and curated private experiences throughout the city. You can follow our adventures on Instagram, and feel free to connect with me personally under “Elie Ernest.”

My academic foundation comes from Columbia, where I studied Urban Geography and Art History—disciplines that continue to shape how I see and share the world around me. Over the years, I’ve called London, Paris, San Francisco (for two decades), and Mexico City home before returning to New York twelve years ago. These experiences have given me perspective on what makes a place truly livable and how different cultures approach community.

I’m currently single. Friends describe me as emotionally grounded, ethical, and genuinely easy to be around—an extrovert who knows when to give others space. I take pride in being clean, respectful, and responsible (and yes, I smell good—sometimes the basics need saying).

I’m looking for a living situation where mutual respect and good energy flow naturally. If this sounds like a match, I’d love to connect.
Cheers!

Elie
