My husband and I are looking to rent a room in San Diego

We own a home in Lake Isabella, in the Sierra Nevadas, but we've been coming down more and more to San Diego in our van, and are looking for a room (and bathroom!) where we can bring our cat for longer stays. Margot is a very clean and not mischievous cat, she is about 10 years old. While we may not be full time room-mates we certainly will be willing to commit to a 12 month lease and all shared costs that go with that. We're also willing to put down a larger deposit/pet rent.

We also have three dogs. However, they are very comfortable and used to living in our van, so if desired, they don't even have to come into the house as long as there is parking nearby. When we are in SD right now, they live in the van with us and we visit places like Dusty Rhodes Park and Fiesta Island where they can run about while I work (and its great for me to get a walk in during down times too!) Its really just for the cat, who is not very agreeable with Van Life and I don't like leaving alone for weeks at a time, even when we have the neighbors come hang out with her.

About us:

I am a tech worker (Technical Account Management) and work remote. This means I may sometimes work from home in the room, but I also have access to a variety of coworking spaces so I won't be taking over the space when I'm there.

My husband is a retired electrictian from the film and tv industry. He is also VERY handy and would be very helpful with any house projects or minor issues that may come up.

We are pretty active folks, sailing, hiking, and bicycling. We are also quiet, not partiers.. though we are baseball fans so most evenings during the season we will wind down with the game over dinner and a beer.

We own our home in Lake Isabella, as well as a home outside of Philadelphia which we rent, so we know what it means to take care of a place. Its been a while since we rented so we won't be able to get any landlord references, but we can get references from neighbors and our tenants if desired.
