Looking for a roommate to share a 2 bed / 2 bath apartment in Oceanside (92056), right by the College Blvd exit off the 78. Move-in date is December 1.
Utilities are ~$170/month per person total (internet+electricity are split between us, water/sewer/trash is split between the whole complex)
Old roommate is moving east at the end of the current lease, I'm looking for someone to sign onto the new one with.
About the apartment and complex
- Common areas are furnished, kitchen has the essentials, there's definitely space for kitchen/cooking/utensils/plates if you have them but you can use mine.
- Room is unfurnished.
- The available bedroom has its own dedicated bathroom with a tub/shower, just outside the room, essentially private. That is 100% your space.
- Patio space with outdoor closet/storage room.
- 1 parking spot per apartment, happy to share it, tons of open parking spots for apartments with multiple vehicles and guests. Parking lot is gated.
- Hot tub and laundry room are just out the front door. Laundry machines take card, 6 washing machines and 8 dryers. Fitness center (treadmills / ellipticals / bike machine) is just around the corner of the main building and the pool is on the other side of that building. Just down the path from the apartment is an amazon locker and the mailboxes. Additional laundry room on other side of parking lot, by the dog park, the tennis court, and the community bbq area
- ISP is Cox. Router is in living room. 500 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload. If you need more for work I'd be open to upgrading
- 24 hour emergency maintenance and the maintenance team is also very responsive to non emergency requests, they're also really friendly.
- Management is also very responsive and friendly.
- Total rent on the new lease is $2,841. Right now my roommate has been paying rent and utilities to me through Venmo, near/at the end of the month, and I pay through the online portal thing that the apartment management uses for payments. The internet and power bills are actually closer to the middle of the month but it seems easier to keep track if its together. If you'd prefer to keep them separate that's fine too.
About me
I'm 33, been in San Diego for almost 30 years now. I'm not shy but I am quiet. Went to UCSD for computer science, mostly doing freelance/gig stuff at the moment but spending some time with a medical tech startup that should be switching to full time next year. I'm on my computer a lot but always with headphones not speakers. I'm a responsible person, I clean up after myself, I do my own dishes, if I see the trash looks full I take it out, I like to share the general apartment chores. I'm a very reasonable person, if you have any sort of requests or if anything comes up you can always bring it up with me, open communication is good. I tend to match people's social energy, if you mostly keep to yourself or you want to talk about football every day I'm good either way. I don't really have guests over. I'm a pretty heavy sleeper and I mostly keep to the regular hours. I'm very laid back, easy going, looking for a stress free roommate situation. I used to work in breweries but I probably drink less than a beer a month now on average, if you would prefer an alcohol free environment I'm 100% fine with that, its not an inconvenience to me.
