Looking for a new roommate to move in ASAP!
About the apartment: 2 bed 2 bath apartment with hardwood floors, central air, in unit W/D, a dishwasher, roof access, and a private backyard. It is the only unit on the first floor so there are no stairs and no shared walls. The shared living space is pretty large and already furnished with a couch, tv, desk, and elliptical. I'm also working on getting a table/island for the kitchen. There is TONS of closet space - in addition to your bedroom closet there is a small coat closet and a large hallway closet. Your bedroom is street facing with window locks and treatments for privacy. The treatments let in plenty of natural light while making sure nobody can see inside. Bedroom is large (queen bed sized) and has a private en suite bathroom with a shower. Bedroom door has a lock on it for privacy and the two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment.
About me: I'm a full time bartender/actor with a small (very friendly) dog named Shorty. I am vegan but totally okay with sharing a kitchen with someone who is not! I typically work 5 days a week from 3-11:30ish - I will let you know in advance if I will be coming home later than that and am very quiet when i get home. On my days off I love to take Shorty to the park, go out for coffee, sew/knit, and watch movies. I'm pretty lowkey; I usually only go out late a couple times a month and when I have friends over it's very chill vibes. I am a lesbian and hoping to find a roommate who is also a part of the community :) It's important to me that the apartment is clean but I'm okay with a little mess when we're both busy with work.
About the dog: Shorty is a female 13 pound poodle/yorkie mix with a LOT of love to give. She likes to spend a lot of time in the backyard watching birds, napping, and even chasing critters (she is my number one line of defense against rodents and has never failed me). Because she is a doodle she doesn't shed and is hypoallergenic (at least for my moderate dog allergy). When she is home alone she goes in a crate, so you don't have to worry about her damaging your stuff. She does like to chat every once in a while, but she is not a constant barker. Shorty loves all people, so she will never be an issue if you have friends over! If you have a dog she will be THRILLED to have a playmate - my former roommate had a 70 pound dog and she loved him a lot.
About the neighborhood: The area is mostly residential, with lots of townhouses and apartments, housing both families and young professionals. Our neighbors on the block are very kind and friendly; it's definitely an area where you will become friendly with all different types of people. There is a lovely park at the end of the block with a playground and lots of open green areas. There are tons of dogs there and on the weekends there are sometimes neighborhood events. On Sundays there's even a small farmers market. The street is on the quieter side (even on weekends), but you can easily walk to busier parts of Bushwick and the L train is only two blocks away.
