Hey I'm Jon, moved to San Diego last year and my roommate is moving out to get a place with his partner. The spot is great, right on the beach in Mission Beach, and we've really enjoyed it for the year we've been here.
I'm originally from Portland OR, and I came down to San Diego just as a change of pace. I try to get outside as much as I can. I play a lot of golf and volleyball, learning to surf, and I enjoy backpacking, camping, all that kind of stuff. I'm a producer for a video game studio, although I wouldn't even say I'm much of a gamer (something about work vs play idk). Some of my less active interests are trying to grow plants, design, music, and checking out the good food spots.
No big requirements for a roommate other than just to make sure we vibe and like to live a similar way. I'm pretty social, but only have gatherings at the apartment on occasion. The roof is a great place to hangout, so sometimes friends come over on weekends to do that. I travel home to Portland quite a bit still to see my girlfriend who still lives there, so you'll get the apartment to yourself sometimes. I don't see myself as super messy or clean person, so I'm flexible there. I just try to avoid dishes in the sink or messes on the counter/stove, and vacuum every so often. Some clutter is fine, being sanitary is more important.
The place is actually furnished, but we do have some of the furniture in storage right now because my current roommate has a dog. If you don't have an animal, we can take the furniture out of storage and not pay for that storage anymore, but it was something our landlord requested in order to approve the dog.
