Sarah K - $600/month

Hi everyone!

I will be moving to Vancouver soon to start a year-long make-up artistry course at the JCI Institute. I am looking to move July 15th- August 1st, ideally into the Downtown/ Burnaby/ Kitsilano area. I put $600 as my budget but I really have no idea what the price range is for Vancouver; I'm assuming that's probably wishful thinking so I can work around more if need be. I will be looking for a part-time job while I'm in school so I will likely be out of the house often.

A bit about me:

I am 23 years old, and will be moving from Sun Peaks, where I have been living for the last 5 years. Here I have alternated seasonally between working as a skilled labourer for lift maintenance during the summers and being the receptionist at the daycare in the winters. Unfortunately due to a major shoulder injury recently I had to give up an apprenticeship to become a millwright and am now in the process of making some serious changes to my life plans. So here we are!

I like to make my place a home, full of plants and artwork and kept clean and tidy. I don't have pets due to a lack of stable long term housing at the ski hill, but I absolutely adore animals and am more than happy to share a home with them (although I do have mild allergies, particularly to dogs with thick shedding hair) I really enjoy cooking and baking for other people (I am a vegetarian). I am friendly and would like to find someone who might enjoy to have board game nights or go out with once in awhile, but I can also be fairly reserved at times and like some space as well. I enjoy being active and outdoors. I have never lived in any city before, let alone one like Vancouver, so it would be fun to find someone else new to the area that I can explore with! I am super laid back and accepting of all people. I do smoke cigarettes but never in the house of course and am really hoping to quit once the stress of moving is out of the way. I do enjoy a drink and a game of pool (when it's open) but that's about as crazy as I get.

My only real conditions is that I would not do well with anyone who is big into hard drug use/ partying, or anyone who can't keep a home at least livable clean.
