Hi!
I'm a software engineer working out of D.C. for 10 years, and decided to transition into finance. I landed a job in financial technologies out of an office near the world trade center, and decided to accept the job!
Moving up to New York I was quite surprised at how big and overwhelming it is. However, I am carefully finding my way to the right neighborhood and community to be a part of.
Typically, I live with roommates. I'm not married and don't yet have a family of my own (I am hoping one day), so I like to have other people around who share similar interests - or just like to have some of the same activities.
I like to do professional networking, social events, city exploration, taking long bike rides (I bought a bicycle for getting around the city rather than risk dealing with parking), and I am really hoping to try something new here like dance class or acting class on the side.
I would say I'm not a typical software nerd, though I appreciate technology, I love people :p Yes this is my real picture, and here is my professional profile (planning to update the finance job with a post soon):
https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidgayman/
I work 9-5 in manhattan, however depending on the project and schedule needs I may transition some of my work home up to three days per week per company policy.
If you're interested and think we would vibe, reach out!
