Available Room for Rent

All-inclusive furnished room in beautiful sunny apt. North Park Slope

AVAILABLE
Immediately / November 1 / any time in November pro-rated

All-inclusive (rent, electric, heat, internet, linens, towels, cleaning service) fully furnished bedroom in beautifully appointed two bedroom apartment in Park Slope (north slope near Grand Army Plaza).

No fee, no deposit, no lease to sign, just first month's rent to secure apartment and last month's rent upon move in.

YOUR ROOM
Really big bedroom (19' x 11.75') with two windows facing 7th ave. Room comes with a comfortable full size bed, two dressers, A/C window unit, closet, storage space above closet, two-seat couch with a pull out single bed for guests, bookshelves, desk, rolling chair, mirror, and a non-working fireplace with a charming mantle. See pictures, your room is the one with the bed (I did not post pictures of my room), the furniture and decoration in the room are now a bit nicer than shown in these photos.

APARTMENT
4th floor walk-up, Brownstone floor-though with just one other apartment in the building, and shops downstairs. The flat is clean, sunny, well appointed, fully equipped, and smoke free.

The building was gut renovated in 2008 and I have been here ever since. It's a pre-war building with lots of character and everything is in good shape. There are two bedrooms: my room (the smaller one, not shown) and yours (the master bedroom). One shared bathroom, newly tiled with tub and shower. Fully outfitted kitchen (dishwasher, gas range, good pots, pans, appliances, utensils, plates, full size fridge, vitamix and good counter space). The living room/dining room is sunny and open with two windows, parquet floors, a large expanding table, sofa bed for visitors, wifi, house plants, books, and a little bar. The living room and kitchen look out onto back gardens - it's green and peaceful.

This apartment is ready for you to step into with nothing but a toothbrush, but your room is big enough to spread out and make your own if you come with lots of stuff. This set up is ideal for someone new to town, in need of a Brooklyn base, in town for a stint who doesn't want to deal with setting up an apartment, and Full time New Yorkers. Play it by ea - no lease to sign. Two month minimum. Long term works works for me too.

LOCATION
3 minute walk to Grand Army Plaza 2/3 trains and 7th ave Q/B trains
CitiBikes right outside
10 minute walk to Atlantic Terminal /Barkley's center LIRR, D, 4, 5, R/N trains.
10 minute walk to F/G trains and Methodist Hospital.

Apartment is on a commercial street with shops, cafes, and a really nice corner market. The closest grocery is the Park Slope Food Coop, and union market is a few doors down, 5 minute walk from Prospect Park, 1 block from a gym and yoga studio, laundry service is right around the corner. Tree-lined street in beautiful and safe neighborhood. If you are familiar with the slope no sales pitch necessary. If not, check it out - this is an excellent place to live.

ME
I am 38, female, born in New York and raised in the Berkshires. I work in historic preservation and design of liturgical art and architecture. I'm honest, drama-free, laugh easily and my former roommates tell me I'm easy to live with. In pre-Covid times I traveled a bunch for work and fun so I wasn't in the apartment a lot but always enjoy cooking and having dinner parties. These days I am splitting the week between Brooklyn and the Berkshires, typically coming down to the apartment Sunday night and leaving for the woods on Wednesday. I anticipate occasionally being in the apartment all week and other times being away all week. When in Brooklyn I typically work from my office, so you would frequently have the place to yourself. I am friendly but very respectful of the privacy and space of my flatmate.

Covid sensibilities: I tend to err on the side of caution, and am not into drama: I wear a mask and have limited the number of people I am in close contact with in this time. I don't have anyone high risk in my life, so I am comfortable going into the office with appropriate precautions. I am currently not traveling for work (just back and forth to my spot in the woods). In these times I think it's worth a conversation about what makes us both comfortable.

YOU
I have had excellent fortune when it comes to roommates and am very open minded about who my next roommate will be. The most important things about you are:
- You are respectful
- You pick up after yourself
- You pay rent on time

If you are an extremely light sleeper this may not be the room for you because it faces the street. It's not terribly noisy, my room also faces 7th ave and I'm not bothered by the street notices at all, but it's something to be aware of.

DATES
I am looking for someone to take over my current roommate's furnished room for a move in anytime between now and July 1, 2018. Short-term or long-term rental.

RENT
$1,925 including internet, electric, heat, furnishings, and cleaning service.

First month's rent to secure apartment, last month's rent due upon move in. You would be subletting from me so no lease or deposit required just first and last month's rent.

PETS
Dogs are allowed in the apartment. I would consider sharing the apartment with a pleasant, minimally shedding, trained dog.
