About Me

Here’s another juncture of my life; here’s another phase of my existence. I’m Siaka, and because of the importance of harmony when residing together, I want to introduce to you aspects of myself, to gain your acquaintance on the written page. Thus the following is a description of my character, sensibility, and achievements (a barometer if you will) in gauging how compatible we might actually be:

First, I’m forty-five—and concededly—apprehensive even as I write this. Anxious, that is, by the prospect of living autonomously. But I believe the most valuable gifts my mother left me before she died, were preservation and the wherewithal to stand on my own two feet. Consequently, due to my endorsement of independence domestically, occupationally, and emotionally (with the support of my father) I’m more ready than ever, to establish residence between me and another, of similar taste and of similar temperament.

In essence, I’m ready to write the next chapter of my life. I’m willing, basically, to accept authorship of my existence, rather than to be a circumstance of it. Thus, despite the death of my mother, I earned a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting and continue to this day, not only to appreciate beauty, but also to use that sensibility for depth, both as a writer, as well as a human being.

Indeed, the world I live—be it teaching students for modest compensation or constructing another page in my screenplay—fills me not only with substance, but also with joy. In fact, you might find me balancing art and formula, as I prepare lessons for my students each day. Or you might see me inspired to write, as I watch a bird alight with grace. Overall, now that I’m older, I find significance, even in the seemingly mundane, and now that I’m mature, I find longevity or creative outlet, even in those once-a-day experiences most of us share.

This, in a broad stroke, is who I am: I am one of compassion, with a thirst for existence and texture (not merely my own) but also for the lives and scenery that continue to touch me. The world I inhabit—with my relationships both professionally and personally—moves me and enables me to feel and create art, likely for the rest of my life. Certainly, I’m alive, for creativity through emotion and experience are the vessels that bring vitality to my soul. In conclusion, if, while having read this, you believe we may be compatible, then please contact me with questions, concerns, or intentions that arise.
