Hi lovely humans!

I am searching for LIKE MINDED HOUSEMATES (I am prioritizing a couple) to SHARE a COZY, VEGAN, PET-FRIENDLY, furnished (except bedrooms) 3-BEDROOM TOWNHOME in the Northwoods area of North Vancouver starting May 1st.

The townhouse complex is right on the Seymour River with walking paths that lead to a park and many North Shore trails. It is in a very convenient location of the North Shore as it is just over the Narrows bridge – you can be on the #1 Hwy in a couple minutes and can get anywhere in the lower mainland easily. Capilano University is a 5-minute (2.5 km) drive away and there are 2 grocery stores within walking distance.

Rent is $1500 (includes internet, cable, Netflix, heat, hot water, electricity, renters’ insurance and in-suite laundry) ($750 each for 2 people). The damage deposit is $425 in total. A small (or medium) sized well behaved non-shedding dog is negotiable with a pet deposit of $850.

You will have 2 of the 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor of the townhouse. One room will be for your bedroom and the other is yours to use as a second living room, craft area, office, storage, yoga space, etc.. – both bedrooms have closets and big windows. There is a large hallway closet outside your bedroom you can use for additional closet space or storage. There are two washrooms, but one bathtub.

You’ll be sharing the space with a healthy, optimistic, LGBTQ2+ friendly woman in my late 40s. I am youthful, yet mature, spiritual and on a committed Yoga path. I am an easygoing and open-minded empath. I value creativity, kindness (to people, animals, and the planet), fun and community. I don’t drink, do drugs or smoke anything; I live a healthy lifestyle. I am working hard towards my own goals, so it is important for me to foster a positive environment based on communication and trust.

This town house complex has 65 units, and the neighbours are friendly and connecty. We even have our own Facebook group. There is a shared comfy furnished living room that I rarely use which has a TV with cable and Netflix, a shared fully equipped vegan kitchen which is clean and organized and a small locked shed area with bike hangers and room for other items. We have an outdoor pool that is open for several months in the summer and there is street parking available outside the complex. We would share a large (put measurements) private locked back patio that has a table, chairs and BBQ as well as a small sitting space out front with a 2-seat rocking chair – great for watching our resident eagles.

This is the perfect home to share if you identify as artists, yogis, musicians or the like, if you are creative souls or a professional people. The set up of this townhome lends itself perfectly to housemates enjoying time apart or together. If you like to cook, play card games, listen to music, watch movies or create, I would be happy to share some time and space with you to do so. If you like to have friends over or entertain on occasion, this is a perfect home to do so in, however if you are one to party or stay up late and be rowdy this wouldn’t be a good fit.

What I’m looking for in my new housemate(s): A happy chill creative mature vegan couple who are familiar or comfort with communal / shared living. You have the ability to have productive conversations that foster care and growth; you are self-awareness and open with communication (especially when addressing conflict). You make good and conscious choices to protect the earth and environment, are 40+ (preferred), but a connection is a connection. You are willing to not smoking anything at home as it is not permitted on the property. You are clean, tidy, and appreciate a calm home vibe, but has bandwidth, flexibility, and compassion.

A little about me: I am a local Vancouverite who is into wellness, enjoying life, crocheting, camping, mindfulness, listening to music, trying new recipes and laughing as much as possible! I love to have fun but also thrive on deep and serious topics of conversation. I appreciate privacy and independence but can be down to have a chat and share if you need a supportive sounding board. I have a partner who visits a couple times a week and spends the night a few times per month. I am creative and always have several projects on the go. I like to communicate clearly about my expectations and boundaries regarding sharing the space. I pour a lot of love into my home with how I maintain organization & cleanliness. It is important for me to find someone who aligns with these values and is interested in sharing the space in a similar way.

Accessibility info: The townhouse has a flight of stairs, so the upstairs level of the town house is not accessible to folks unable to do stairs – the main floor is accessible, as is the back patio. This home is LGBTQ2+ friendly and a %100 discrimination free zone on all accounts. English is the primary language I speak, but I also know basic ASL. I burn incense and use essential oils regularly, so this is NOT a scent-free home.
