The Apartment -
The unit itself is a large, true two bedroom 1 bathroom layout that includes a private balcony in the living room. The common space of the apartment is laid out in an L shaped living and dining room with an attached kitchen. There is also space leftover in the living room for a shared home office space - it's been absolutely fantastic for self tapes and remote work to stay productive during social distancing. There is a massive shared closet that spans the whole length of the apartment. There are digital thermostats in each bedroom as well as the living room to control the heating in each individual space. The kitchen is fully updated with a microwave, stove, oven and large refrigerator. The bathroom has a bathtub not just a standing shower!

The Available Room -
The available room is a spacious 116 square foot room (approximately 10’ x 16’). It features a double door closet as well as access to tons of extra closet space in the main hall. Additionally, a full size bed frame and mattress can be included for free when you move in if desired! There is also one large window that extends up to the ceiling as well as a thermostat that controls the heating in your individual room. The room fits a queen size bed comfortably, is very quiet and gets good light during the day.

The Building -
The apartment is on the 6th floor of a pet friendly elevator building in a gated community patrolled 24/7 by private security personnel. The building is equipped with an elevator, virtual doorman, and laundry room. Great for packages and deliveries, and you can text a temporary key to anyone that you need to let in, like a friend, family member, or dog walker.

Location & Transportation -
Located at 101st and 1st, it's a short walk to either the express Q train or local 6 line. The total commute to Adler is 45 min or less, including walking time on both ends.The M115 bus and express bus are steps away on 1st Avenue - great for going to and from the East Village or to the nearby Costco / Target on East 116th. The crosstown M96 bus takes you directly to the Upper West Side in a few minutes - great for getting to 1-2-3 or a-c-e trains, Penn Station, or Lincoln Center. The NYC ferry is a few blocks away at 96th - for just a metrocard swipe, it takes you to 34th in a few minutes, where you can transfer to Queens, Brooklyn, FiDi, and the Rockaways if you'd like to escape to the beach. If you prefer to use taxis or ubers, the FDR is just around the corner and gets you to Adler in about 20 min depending on traffic. This also comes in handy for social outings! If you ever drive in or out of the city, it's super easy to jump on the highway and go anywhere from this location.

The immediate neighborhood is very safe and highly residential - there is a charter school and hospital with well monitored grounds between the building and the 96th Street Q station and a police precinct between the building and the 6 train station. There is a 24 hour grocery store a block and a half away, along with a pharmacy and several delis.

Within a ten minute walk, you can stroll down to the many bars, shops, and restaurants in the Upper East Side. Most are located in the 80s and 90s near the Whole Foods, movie theatres, and other neighborhood hot spots. Central Park - and Museum Mile - are also within walking distance. My favorite neighborhood feature is Randall's Island, a 432 acre park replete with athletic facilities, nature preserve, waterfront parkland, and picnic areas that is accessible in less than 5 min via a pedestrian bridge on our block.
