Hello! We are looking for either ONE person to rent out our extra large room or TWO PEOPLE TOGETHER (pref a couple). For one the price is $850, for two it will be $480 each or $950 for both.
We rent through FirstKey homes who have decided to increase our rent again to $1890 + utilities. So we are trying to keep our monthly bills as low as we can by renting out our big room!
There is a $665 security deposit upon move in. Rent is due at the LATEST the first of every month.
Move in date is MARCH 15!
Excuse the stuff in your room, we are still working on moving it all out. It will all be cleaned and ready by the time you’re moving in.
The couch and table is included if you want to use it. (if not we’ll get rid of it)
ABOUT US: I’ve lived here 3 years now (moved from AL). I’m a queer trans guy, I work at a retail store in the mornings and sell things I make online on the side. My roommate works part time at a restaurant but mainly hosts raves and DJ’s for local events.
IDEAL TENANTS: someone who is around our age (21-30y/o) and likes cats (we have 2!), smoking 🍃, raves/edm, cosplaying/nerdy things, and is friendly & clean.
Cats are welcome, dogs only certain kinds (we can talk about it).
We just want someone we have things in common with and enjoy seeing everytime we come home. We’re friendly but we won’t be all up in your business all the time.
LOCATION: off the glenwood exit in Decatur. About 20min from downtown Decatur. 30 from ATL. 25 from Ponce city market.
EXPECTATIONS: Rent must always be paid in full ON TIME no exceptions. Always clean up after yourself when using shared spaces I.e. kitchen & bathroom. Contribute to small household chores like sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, dishes, taking out trash/recycling. Don’t be super loud past 11pm. Be friendly!
PROS AND CONS of the room:
PROS-
-SUPER BIG. You will have so much space in here you won’t even know what to do with it. If you get some room dividers or curtains, you could have a full bedroom with wardrobe and living room area, or an office perhaps, in here with room to spare.
-Private entrance. If you wanna come into your room and not interact or speak to anyone, there’s a door on the side of the house straight into your room.
-Lots of windows. You’ll get plenty of natural sunlight (if you want).
CONS-
-Bad insulation. We’re pretty certain the room was converted from a garage, so the temperature of this room is typically the outside temperature. You’ll probably wanna invest in some box fans for summer and space heaters for winter.
-Privacy. There’s only one door for the two entrances to the room. We would definitely have to rig something somehow to close off that area that will still allow me and my roommate to use the laundry room without entering your space. But we can figure that out :)
-Floors weird. Idk how to describe it, but whatever wood pieces they used to do the flooring weren’t laid down well, and it makes the floor kinda uneven and weird. Would be fine if you got a nice rug though.
