About Me

Hello there! I'm a full-time illustrator currently living in the West End of Toronto, looking for a new place as well as a potential roomy! I'm potentially open to two roommates if the dynamic works well. Female roommate preferred, separate rooms.

I'm a pretty quiet person who is somewhat introverted, but not shy. I've been told I am rather like a cat, in that I like sharing space with people and doing things with them, but I won't always pester you for attention. Haha! Basically I very much enjoy the company of others and I like to be around people, but I can entertain myself just fine. People often describe me as "genuinely friendly" and I hope to find a potential friend in a roomy as well! :)

I'm not a party person at all, and I don't have visitors over too often (usually I go over to other people's houses instead.) Every now and then I invite people over, or have a friend stay overnight for a movie marathon or something, but it's pretty rare. I don't mind if you have a couple friends over either, though I'd probably prefer not to host large gatherings and events very often. If people are going to stay overnight, (at either of our invitation) I think it's fair to notify the other person ahead of time to make sure everyone's cool with it.

I don't drink or smoke at all, and I do have to request for non-smoking roommates. I am very sensitive to smells and things like cigarettes and pot especially give me terrible headaches, so smoking is a no-go for me. Sorry! I also can't really handle strong artificial smells like scented candles and incense for this same reason.
I don't have any food allergies though so whatever you eat is fine with me. Bonus points if you enjoy cooking with a friend from time to time. :)

I am looking for a pet-friendly roommate/place! I currently have a corn snake and am thinking of getting a medium sized dog. I don't mind if my roommate has pets too as long as they are well-trained and well-kept. I'm not a fan of irresponsible pet owners. I'm a little skittish of rodents and birds as pets, but dogs, reptiles, and fish are generally fine. Cats are also ok providing you're good about taking care of their litterbox and the cat isn't destructive (though the destructive part goes for any animal).

I could get another single apartment on my own if I wanted, but I've been living in my own place for the last 4 years and I've come to realize that I really miss having a friend around the house! So essentially, I'm looking for somebody of a similar disposition who's easy going, likes a quiet and clean place, and who is looking for a potential friend rather than just somebody to split rent with and never actually see. My hope is that we can have a good time living together and be pals! ^^

My interests include-

Music- I'm almost always listening to something but either quietly or with headphones. I like going out to see bands or orchestras as well! I play the ukulele, irish whistle, and flute, though I get stage fright about it and generally only play quietly. XD

Film/shows- I love binging shows with a friend but don't generally watch tv on my own. I like going out to the movies with people and then over-analyzing the movie afterwards. Haha! I write stories and treatments for part of my job, so I like picking apart shows and other media.

Video games/tabletop gaming- I'm very passionate about the gaming industry as this is a lot of my daily job! I play games in my free time, but not every day (sometimes only once every couple weeks, sometimes more frequently if I'm really interested in one). I wouldn't at all say that I'm a hardcore gamer, but I have a keen interest in games as an interactive art/story media and will definitely nerd out about it a bit if you let me. XD I also enjoy tabletop games and usually go to a weekly group for it on Thursdays.

Literature- though I don't read as often as I used to, I love a good book, and I write a lot. Partly for work, partly for fun! It's not uncommon to find me squirreled away in a corner working on some writing.

Nature- I love being around trees and nature, so I generally prefer living close to a park if possible (Currently I live by High Park and I like it a lot). I'm not a hard core hiker or a big camper (I hate bugs XD) but I love going on long nature walks and getting away from the city atmosphere from time to time. I'm from a much less urban, greener town so I prefer a bit more nature where I live. If you're so inclined, you'd be more than welcome to join me on walks or trips to visit different nature parks/areas around TO. :)

I'm looking to potentially stay on the West side. I like High Park area, though Etobicoke would be fine, possibly even east side Mississauga, but I will need to be in close proximity to transit, as I don't drive in TO.

If this sounds nice to you, feel free to reply and tell me a bit about yourself! I'm looking to move in to a place in April or May, and can provide proof of employment, reference from previous landlord, etc.

Have a great day!
