I’m looking for a friendly male roommate in his 50s to share my small one-bedroom house. This is a great opportunity for companionship while sharing living expenses.
About the House:
• Small fenced backyard and front yard; no washer/dryer (laundromat needed).
• Each person pays $400 for rent, utilities, Wi-Fi, and renters insurance.
• The rental contract specifies that there is no smoking allowed in the residence, and I require a sober living environment—no alcohol or illegal drugs. A peaceful home is preferred—no parties or drama.
Financial Details:
• A $450 deposit and $450 for the first month’s rent are due on the day you move in. The first month’s rent can be prorated depending on the day of the month you move in, but the $400 deposit cannot be prorated.
• A background check will be conducted.
Agreement Details:
We will sign a contract for a 90-day evaluation period. If, at the end of that time, we both agree to continue living together, great! If not, you will have 30 days to move out. This agreement will stipulate that we won’t engage in conflict, scream, yell, or take each other to court. It will be a notarized document filed at the courthouse, ensuring a respectful exit if we don’t feel it’s a good fit.
Agreements and arrangements regarding living conditions and expectations can be negotiated and discussed prior to move-in to ensure everything is specified in the contract.
A Bit About Me:
I value manners and good hygiene, so I expect the same in a roommate. I see the world as half full—overflowing, in fact—and I’m grateful for everything around me. If you are a naturally angry person who tends to see everything negatively, we may not be a good match. I prefer to share my space with a positive, happy roommate who isn’t focused on negativity.
I enjoy activities like the Renaissance Festival, Comic Con, city markets, swap meets, antique shops, weekend trips, fishing, and grilling on the deck. Family and friends are important to me.
Whether you work or receive a monthly check, that’s fine as long as you can pay your share. I believe we should meet several times before committing to living arrangements to ensure we connect and understand each other’s backgrounds.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out! I look forward to hearing from you!
