I currently work in technical support while attending school, pursuing a degree in software engineering. I don't have much time for socializing, as I'm typically either working on my day job, working on schoolwork, or spending time with my son. I love video games, but I just don't have much time for them right now, except during school breaks.
I wake up at 6 am on WFH days or 5:30 am on on-site days (to account for travel time to work), feed the cat, and get the kid ready for school. I'm then either out of the house until about 5 pm (on-site days) or hiding in my room until at least 4 pm (WFH days). In the evenings, I spend some time with my kid (board or card games are common if he doesn't have any homework) and my cat, put together something simple for dinner, then head back into my room for schoolwork and maybe stream an episode of a show before bed.
On the weekends, I either disappear entirely to spend time with my partner (who does not live here) or stick around the house doing housework and catching up on schoolwork.

ROOMMATE WANTED: COZY HOUSE IN LAGUNA / VALLEY HI
We have two bedrooms available in a comfortable home within walking distance of John Reith Elementary. We are two working professionals co-parenting an 11-year-old child and sharing the space with one very shy cat.
THE VIBE
THE CAT: If you aren't a "cat person," you likely won't even see her; our last roommate only spotted her once in four months! If you do like cats, she will eventually warm up to you, but she takes her time, and it will take concentrated effort on your part.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD: It is a quiet area where neighbors mostly keep to themselves. You will occasionally see kids playing outside, and during school hours, you can hear the nearby elementary school playground from the backyard.
LAYOUT AND AMENITIES
THE KITCHEN: Large with ample counter space—perfect for complex meals or multiple people prepping at once. Includes a microwave, fridge, dishwasher, air fryer, rice cooker, and waffle maker. Pantry space is a bit cramped, but we have added a wire rack for extra food storage.
THE GARAGE: A two-car garage is currently used for minor storage but has ample room for up to 2 vehicles. There are working hookups for a washer/dryer, though no appliances are currently installed.
OUTDOOR SPACE: Fenced backyard featuring an above-ground pool and a raised garden bed in progress. There is plenty of remaining open space for backyard activities like throwing a ball around.
WORK/LIFE: One adult works from home part-week; the other is out Mon-Fri.
HOUSE RULES AND LOGISTICS
SMOKING/VAPING: We don't mind either, but it MUST be done outdoors. Due to asthma and heart conditions in the house, keeping the indoor air clear is a high priority.
UTILITIES: Monthly costs for SMUD, garbage/recycling, and high-speed Xfinity internet are not included in rent and will be split evenly among all adult occupants.
CURRENT FURNISHING STATUS
Please note that the available bedroom is unfurnished except for a twin bed frame (no mattress) and a small lamp.
The living and dining rooms are currently "underfurnished" as a previous roommate moved out with their furniture. We are slowly replacing pieces, but for now:
LIVING ROOM: Has a couch and a PS5, but no TV or entertainment center.
DINING ROOM: Has a plastic folding table and one chair.
