A private room, a respectful roommate, and likely everything you want

One bedroom available for rent in a spacious 2bed/1bathroom apartment at London House in Rosslyn. Looking for a move-in date ~ Mid-October but as early as September 1st (quite a bit of flexibility in date). There will be one roommate who is chill and responsible (more details below). The building is a 5-minute walk to Rosslyn metro (Orange/Blue/Silver) and about a 15-minute walk to Georgetown and DC. If you travel, DCA is a 6 minutes drive and there is direct shuttle to IAD from Rosslyn Metro.

The bedroom is a converted dining room that measures 14"1' x 13". You'd be sharing a bathroom located next to your walk-in closet with one other roommate. Your bedroom gets lots of daylight, especially in the early afternoon.

The apartment will come furnished (living room and kitchen) in communal areas, but can be subject to change if you like.

The apartment is airy and has wood floors. It has a large living room furnished with two couches, a coffee table, TV, TV stand, piano, workout equipment, dining room table, and two dining chairs. The kitchen is great, with a dishwasher, gas stove, and fridge/freezer. All pots, pans, utensils, bowls, etc. are included, as well as a crockpot, toaster over, Instapot, hot kettle, and single-cup coffeemaker.

The base rent is ~$1100 per month (depends on contract length and if you are signing as a couple); utilities are usually $40-60/month each, and ~$30/month for Internet. Parking is also available for an additional $110/month for indoor garage parking. There is also ample parking nearby for guests at no charge during certain time periods. The complex has an outdoor pool, a small gym, and a rooftop deck with amazing views across the Potomac to D. C., all of which gets covered under a once-per-year amenities package fee (TBD as this changed last year). You would also have access to the accompanying building, Normandy House's amenities as well (pool, rooftop, gym). There are laundry rooms on every floor. Additionally, the apartment complex asks for a security deposit.

About the roommate:
Jing is a 28yo female born and raised in Wisconsin who moved to Northern VA about 3 years ago. She is a health professional who works in GIS technology and data. Pre-COVID she was a frequent traveler and her last international trip was to Morocco in January for a 30th birthday before the pandemic hit. In a roommate, she prefers someone who is clean, respectful, easy-going, and kind :) Her hobbies include visiting aquariums, hiking/exercise, going out for drinks/food, travel, reading, relaxing by the apartment pool and having fun with family and friends! She appreciates this apartment most because of the incredible amount of amenities that are in walking distance that satisfy what brings her joy in life:
- Health: able to walk to Theodore Roosevelt's Island a number of other trails nearby. There are multiple pharmacies, including a CVS across the street; and when Jing broke her leg bouldering, she could go to PT 2 blocks away. There are multiple chiropractors, dentists, dermatologists, etc. all in walking distance.
- Food: Chipotle on the same block, CAVA, Compass Coffee, Happy Endings, Nandos, Bethesda Bagel, all within a few blocks. Salt is a 5 minute walk away, and Road House Grill has a happy hour from 4-7 every weekday. Several happy hours exist within minutes walk.
- Exercise: Barre, cycling, HIIT, a Gold's Gym, Crossfit, all within 10 minutes walk - for reference, Jing has access to 3 gyms and 2 pools (could be 4 if she paid for crossfit) all on the same block.
- Neighborhood: Super clean and very safe. Rosslyn has staff that tidies up the streets and ensures neighbors are aware of the latest safety measures for COVID-19. There is no excuse for trash on the ground because there is a trashcan what seems like every 30 feet.
- Parks: There is a park bridge across the street and the Iwo Jima Memorial/Park is just 10 minutes walk away.
- Reading: There are a lot of community seating areas to sit down and enjoy the sunshine.
