Navya T - $1,500/month

Hi! My name is Navya Thakkar (she/her) and I’m a 22-year-old incoming graduate student at the Pratt Institute studying Information Experience Design. I am currently looking for housing in the Manhattan or Brooklyn area.

I am originally from Mumbai, India, but have spent the last 5 years in the States doing my undergraduate degree (in Biology & Studio Art) at Vanderbilt University, and then working in Durham, NC. A little bit about me: I like making art (printmaking, mostly!), creating playlists, enjoying a coffee, roller-skating, reading queer-fiction novels, and cooking.

Roommate-wise, I love to keep my spaces clean and tidy. I believe in doing a little tidying up daily so that I can relax in my spaces. I cook a variety of things and would love to cook for you. I’d love to be friends with my roommate, if possible :) Also, I adore pets! I’m generally a pretty easy-going person and appreciate open conversation/communication about most things. It would be wonderful to have someone to explore the city with and create a new community.

I would be in school full-time, which means classes for 9 hrs/week and I’m hoping to find a part-time job on campus for about 10-12 hrs/week.

Unfortunately, I haven’t visited New York since I was 16, but I’m looking forward to enjoying a neighborhood where I could find a good coffee shop, a community based art space, or just somewhere where I can people-watch and sketch!
