Hello!

My roommate unfortunately needs to move out this month, so we’re both currently looking for someone to take over his lease. I’ve really fallen in love with this place because it has such a special layout that I don’t think I’ll ever come across again.

The apartment is very spacious triplex with two kitchens on a residential street in Bushwick, and while it is a shared space, it has the quality of feeling like you live alone. That's due to a unique aspect of the unit: Each tenant essentially has their own individual common spaces, including separate kitchens and bathrooms. My office/living room is in the basement, which has its own kitchen, full bathroom, and entrance. The ground floor would be your space, complete with your own kitchen, a living room (16x51 feet!) a dishwasher, a half-bath, and access to our private backyard. The “shared” aspect is essentially the fact that I have to walk through this space to get to the basement from my room. There are some rare instances where I might ask to use that space in a limited capacity, but those instances are 2-3 times a year and of course I would ask for permission first. This also applies to the basement which you’re free to use if you give me a little heads up (works great as a guest bedroom!)

On the second floor, the bedrooms are located down the hall from each other. Each person has their own full bathrooms (my bath is en suite, yours is directly across from your room in the hallway). In addition, you would get a second room (the size of an actual bedroom not a tiny closet) next to your bedroom that you can use as you see fit (as an office, for storage, etc.) Finally, there is a washer and dryer in-unit. Both of us have separate entrances to access the street and the backyard from our respective kitchen/living areas.

Everyone is welcome, couples included. The ground floor is partially furnished--the furnishings belong to me and I’m willing to discuss clearing some items for the new tenant(s). The available room and office will be unfurnished. Ideally the move in date is the 15th but we can push that back to July 1st if need be.

And me? A little about myself? Why I thought you’d never ask: I’m a cinematographer and video editor. I work from home roughly half of the week, and have to travel for work about once every two months. I would somewhat prefer folks who also work partially outside the unit (a hybrid schedule, etc.) since it makes this already private space feel even more private when one of us isn’t there!
