I recently separated from my husband of 8 years and my partner of 8 years prior to that. Needless to say, I find the thought of living alone more than a little daunting both financially and mentally. I'm hoping to find a good-hearted person of any gender with whom I share a meal on occasion and who will hopefully become a friend. But for the most part, I keep to myself and will very likely stay out of your hair.
Outside of work I enjoy reading/listening to any book I can get my hands on--I'm partial to horror, cozy mysteries, and travel writing but genuinely will read just about anything. I love scary movies, going to plays & musicals, playing D&D, and occasionally trying out new baking recipes--most of which you'll no doubt be forced to taste test. Woe is you.
The only other resident of whom you need to be aware is the world's most adorable kitten, Desdemona. At the time of posting, she is currently 7 weeks old!

Private bedroom and bath in Durham’s Hope Valley Farms! Safe neighborhood with ample trails for biking or walking, plus easy access to grocery stores and a YMCA roughly a quarter mile down the road. Roughly a 15 minute drive from both UNC and Duke--would be ideal for a young professional or graduate student at either institution. Current residents are myself (37 F) and the world’s most adorable kitten who, at the time of posting is currently 7 weeks old 🙂
$800 flat rate per month includes utilities, laundry, parking, and probably some other sundries that aren’t occurring to me at this time. Bedroom as currently pictured still contains some clutter. The room will be cleaned and personal effects will be removed before move-in. Kitchen and downstairs are fully furnished and available for use. Open to renters of any gender so long as you are respectful, a nonsmoker, and are comfortable with a cat.
