Madi B - $1,100/month

About Me

Howdy! My sleepy cat and very well-trained and well-managed (but admittedly particular) dog are currently renting a studio but would prefer to save money and gain space. I’ve lived with many different housemates before my studio and realized I actually enjoy the benefits of cohabitation, especially the body-doubling! I’m polite and friendly but also value my privacy and am flexible meshing with your lifestyle. Because my studio works for me, I have a somewhat flexible timeline and selected the end of my lease as my “preferred move date.” I work full time, mostly from home, as well as some side gig/hobbies in running race work and wood working. I think, ideally, I’d partner with 1 or 2 others to find a house that works great for all of us.

Looking for in a home: A dishwasher and small yard/patio/balcony are a must for me. Private bedroom and bathroom. AC or nice mini splits. A large common space or shared spare bedroom or something along those lines (my dog’s kennel, spin bike for sharing, and my desk can’t all fit in my room). A garage for tools/storage and woodworking bench and a (shared) little home gym.

Looking for in a housemate: Emotionally intelligent, respectful, and communicative. No cats/dogs or a dog owner with a very similar training style educated in dog psychology. Has the right vibe for my dog. Some balance of friendliness and personal space, but I’m open to a wide range of lifestyles on this spectrum. I’m even open to a more co-op style of living as long as we have a direct system for splitting expenses. Some non-negotiables for me are cleanliness, no drugs in the house, no heavy drinking. Communication about guests and overnight guests.

More about me: I’m professional and have a very stable job but am also pretty anti-capitalist. I’m queer, love the outdoors, feel ambitious about my goals, adore my pets, have always been very responsible, and prioritize my personal growth. I love going to the farmers market or eating a little treat like a latte out or a home-baked chocolate trip banana bread. :) I’m reasonably handy for small repairs and projects. I’m also neurodivergent – the biggest nd pro is my ability to aggressively learn everything about a random topic, and the biggest con I hear is my flat affect tone + straightforwardness or that some folks can think I sound upset when I’m just excited and emphatic about something. I love the enneagram and am a 6!
