James O - $1,500/month

I'm 24 and live in my hometown of Carrboro, NC (next to Chapel Hill). I graduated from Williams College in 2016, where I played linebacker on the football team. I've been working at my family's business since 2017. We're a small agency based in Durham, NC that creates and consults on training for all sorts of companies and non-profits. I work on a four-person team that specializes in consulting for Pharma/Life Sciences companies.

I've been in a long distance relationship for a little over two years -- my girlfriend lives in East Village and I'm looking to make the move up to NYC. Since she and I are not yet planning to share an apartment, I'm open to living in a range of neighborhoods -- generally, closer to East Village is better, but I'm flexible.

I'm pretty invested in my family's business and plan to continue to work there for at least a year post-move. This means two things: 1) I'll spend a lot of time working from the apartment and 2) I'll typically spend one week per month at our office in Durham.

I get along well with others and have a pretty laid-back approach to living. I'm neither a neat freak nor a slob, but somewhere in between. I keep pretty quiet most of the time but noise doesn't bother me too much except for 9-5 on weekdays.

Happy to room with sporty types, brainy types, artsy types, party animals, and anywhere in between. Don't care if you're older or younger than me. Outside of needing a relatively quiet apartment during the workday, my one other ask is that you don't mind my GF visiting fairly often and spending the night. She's my age, a straight shooter, and a really kind person.
