Hi all! I have a room available in a 2 bedroom second floor walk up in Bay Ridge for 850 a month. Landlord pays electric. We split wifi (25 each per month) and gas/heat (depends on the month). It is about a 6 minute walk to the Bay Ridge Ave R train and a 12 minute walk to the 59th St. N train.
If you’re looking for luxury this is not it. The place is old and not very big. The room can fit a queen bed with not much else in it or a twin bed if you want more room. There’s a large closet (it has doors they just need to be screwed back in (I have the screws)) There’s some sticker thing on the window that needs to be scraped off. There is no laundry in the building, no dishwasher, and no oven, but it’s perfect for a student or budget conscious individual. There are also window AC units in the bedrooms so you can have a cool, tranquil sleep.
There is a shared kitchen/living room area. I have a table and chairs, and all the pots, pans, spices, and utensils, so you don’t need to bring that stuff. I don’t have a sofa yet. I plan on buying one soon. You can help me pick it out if you like. The apartment is on bustling 5th ave which has a lot of shops, delis, cafes, and delicious halal food. It’s a 13 minute walk to beautiful Owl’s Head Park with gorgeous views of the Hudson river. 2 minute walk to Alpine Cinema. Laundromat is a block away.
I’m looking for someone to stay until July 31, which is when the lease ends. Landlord doesn’t accept pets unfortunately. I moved into the place in August and my roommate had to leave suddenly due to an emergency. She has a brand new twin bed frame, mattress, sheets, and desk chair which she had to leave behind (these are the boxes in the pictures). You are welcome to use these if you’d like.
About me: I’m 22 years old. I use she/her pronouns. I recently graduated from City College where I studied film production and psychology. I work at at a gym but I’m currently looking for jobs that are film related. In my free time I’m usually cooking vegan food, reading, writing, making playlists, enjoying a park, editing videos, and hanging out with friends. I also love my shows. Killing Eve and Breaking Bad are two of my favorites!
The apartment isn’t super cute at the moment, but I really want to make it a more peaceful, appealing place to unwind with plants and other whimsical touches (for cheap ofc) and hopefully you do too. I’m clean, easy going and respectful. Looking for someone else who is the same! We can interact as much or as minimally as you wish :)
I can send a video of the apartment too. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if it sounds like this would be a good fit for you. Ask any questions.
