I'm looking for an ADU, mother in law unit, studio or something affordable in the Mission Viejo area. My family and I have been going through some financial challenges and have been unhoused for almost 2 years. We currently are living separately at a couple of different friends houses. The home my son, cat and I are staying at has been sold and we need to move out within a week or so. I'm currently on unemployment and actively seeking new employment. The company I worked for went bankrupt and I lost my job at the end of August. I hope to be employed again very soon. My son is 18 and is also seeking his first job, to help out financially. We are quiet, honest and hard working people, who really just need a hand up right now. A place with its own private entrance would be perfect. As the stress from all of this has been very hard on our 12 yr old cat because staying in a room of someone else's house keeps him on edge all of the time. Which is reaking havoc on his health. We all just need a place to call our own. We're hoping to be able to stay for around a year. At first we could only pay about $800/mo. But once we both get working again, we could renegotiate the amount.

In case you're wondering, we have already tried to get government assistance. With the cost of everything rising and SO many people in need, there isn't ANY assistance out there right now. Section 8 has been closed this entire time we've needed help! Which is why I'm seeking help elsewhere.
