Hello there. My name is Joe. I currently work as the editor of an arts journal (LAB). In the past, I’ve worked as a DHS care provider for kiddos with autism (in Portland, OR). I’m a quiet, clean, respectful housemate. I spend my spare time rock climbing, bicycling, and taking walks. My photo work is on Flickr, and I’ve hung a few small gallery shows.
A few more things about me: I’m an ambivert (an introvert AND an extrovert, depending on the context), and I love cozying up at home with a good book and a cup of coffee. I respect others’ space, clean up after myself, and like to pay rent early (just to have it checked off!). I’m all about kindness, mindfulness, and compassion. That said, I have a good sense of humor, and I don’t take myself too seriously. I’ve volunteered with the Portland Library, Project Grow (art studio for adults with disabilities), Big Brothers Big Sisters NW, and the Q Center (an LGBTQI resource center).
I take Covid very seriously, and have been wearing masks and gloves from the very start. Let me know what the house rules are, and I’ll abide.
I’m definitely familiar with shared house living situations— I’ve been living in shared houses for several years now (and I can provide references). I’m all about respecting housemates’ boundaries and keeping shared spaces extra clean. Whatever the house vibe is— I’m flexible enough to make it work.
