Moved down to Midtown, Toronto last year and have loved the area since. My roommate is currently looking to move out to go back to his home country either at the end of December or the end of January, depending on your preferences.
Room is $1600 + utilities. Its a 2-bedroom, 2-bath corner unit just off of Yonge st. on Roehampton ave. We're a 3 min walk from the Eglington station on line 1 and in the centre of yonge st right across from the Yonge Eglington centre.
We locked in our rent before things went crazy, but our same corner unit 1 floor above us is listed for $4400 per month. (Mine is currently $3200 total)
Building has some very nice amenities including a solid gym, cycle room, yoga/pilates room, steam room, etc.
Happy to room with either a male or female, I'm very respectful and considerate by nature so it wouldn't be an issue.

Very nice apartment, has lots of glass walls and great views facing both southward and westward. Located right off of Yonge st. near the Eglington station, so couldn't be better in terms of convenience and proximity to transportation etc.
Building has a number of great amenities including a nice gym, steam rooms, palates rooms, cycle room, barbecue area, etc.
Unit is rent-controlled, and equivalent corner units above me are going for $4400 per month total (2200/person/month).
