My amazing housemate and I are looking for a 3rd person to take the 2nd bedroom in our main house.
A bit about us:
I (Brian) am a sculptor and designer in metal, wood and found artifacts for the last 19 years with my own shop in Richmond. I run a business teaching team building workshops too. I have been at the house since 2010 and currently live in the detached garage/converted loft in the backyard. I am a lover of and daily practitioner of yoga, food, Buddhism and laughter. And chocolate, which goes without saying, you must be too.

Hope works at home in marketing and is active as a musician, performer, and dancer. She is often on an adventure somewhere, and is very active in lgbtqai+/goth/Renfaire/neurospicy circles. She likes to create a warm, calm home base as she spends the rest of her time cooking, exercising, playing guitar, cosplaying, or crafting/decorating.
We are looking for a socially, spiritually and environmentally conscious roommate who is a good recycler and doesn’t use much single use plastic.
I stopped drinking about 10 years ago and am not looking for anyone who drinks anything more than occasionally. I’ve cultivated the vibe here over the last decade and want to keep the good energy. We do have gatherings at our place here and there and like hosting folks!
We’re low drama, good communicators, clean and looking for another fun adult to add your unique flavor to our unique home.
I cook my main meal in the mornings, Hope cooks throughout the day. The kitchen is well used, well loved and well clean.
A bit about the house:
The main house (with the room we are looking to have you live in) is a 2 bedroom, 1.5bath in which we all share the kitchen, full bath and large common area.
We have all new appliances in there with a washer/dryer, gas stove/oven, dishwasher, etc.
We are fully furnished (in the house not your room) and there is art up all around that can come or go if you have pieces that you would like to bring in and make the place more your own, we are happy to talk about creating the best setup possible!
The backyard has a garden which I take care of but am happy to share.
We are a pet free house.
A bit about the room:
The room is just about 10x11’ and we have had different folks over the years in there with all kinds of cool setups and all different bed sizes.
$1250/month includes rent and wi-fi. We pay utilities. (water, power, gas and sewer. Summer months is less than $150/person, winter goes up).
Deposit is $950.
Rent can be paid to landlord with cash, check or venmo/paypal/zelle.
A bit about the neighborhood:
We are in such a rad neighborhood!
We know most of our neighbors and there are many families and artsy folks on the block and close by.
We are biking and walking distance to Berkeley Bowl West, Trader Joes, Paradise Park Cafe, a number of other neighborhood cafés and about the same short distance to Ashby and Maccarthur Bart.
We have ample street parking and are the closest entrance to the freeway for the city, as well as easy access north or south when the traffic gods are smiling upon you.
Hope and I both have vehicles. We have a driveway as well.
We look forward to connecting to schedule a house or zoom visit soon. The room is currently open and we are looking for someone to move in as early as the end of October
