Hi, I’m Jana. I’m looking for a great roommate to share my beautiful Clinton Hill brownstone apartment with. I'm a gen-x nonfiction content editor, working full time from home during COVID. In normal times, I read; go out to a lot of live music, mostly folk, blues, indie, and jazz shows; see literary and poetry readings; and all types of non-mainstream movies.
I’m very open to people’s lifestyle choices, sexual orientation, gender identification, cooking styles, thinking patterns, personality disorders, hang-ups, insomnia, and the occasional/sometimes overnight guest. What I do ask is that during COVID, when we both are likely to be home more often than usual, we find respectful ways of sharing the common spaces, including the cleaning responsibilities.
I’d like to find someone who is also employed on a full-time basis or a graduate student.

Available Room for Rent
Large, Sun-Filled Room in 2 Bdrm, Clinton Hill Brownstone, $850, Avail 3/15
SUN-FILLED BEDROOM AVAILABLE IN WHOLE-FLOOR TWO-BEDROOM APARTMENT. On the third floor of a Clinton Hill landmark brownstone. Access to large full kitchen and bathroom. $850/MONTH. Available March 15 to April 1.
The Room
* Approximately 130.5 square feet. Fits a king-sized bed, full desk, large shelves or closet, and other furniture.
* Tremendous sunlight. Two large windows overlooking the open sky, the tops of brownstones, and a row of backyards. Gets a ton of sun.
* Very private. The bedroom I'm renting and my bedroom are at opposite ends of the apartment, so they're very separate (it's like living in two different apartments).
The Apartment and Building
* Separate windowed cooking kitchen, with large oven/stove and fridge, a tiled countertop, plenty of space for cooking, and a large window.
* Tiled bathroom with full bathtub.
* Access to the kitchen and bathroom, no shared common space.
* Wi-Fi access throughout apartment.
* All original brownstone details. Original hardwood floors, high 12' ceilings, original moldings, and other details.
* On the third floor of an 1890s landmark brownstone. On a tree-lined, very quiet block of brownstones.
* Not furnished.
* No pets.
Neighborhood and Transportation
* A/C Clinton-Washington subway station 3 blocks away; G Clinton-Washington 5 blocks. 10–15 minutes (4 subway stops) to Downtown Manhattan
* There's a laundromat, 2 supermarkets, lots of great restaurants and bars, and a health food store one block in either direction.
* $850 PLUS ONE-MONTH SECURITY DEPOSIT. Utilities not included in rent. I'll do a short meeting/tour of apartment with people, and have you fill out a short application and provide employment verification and references once we decide to finalize the agreement.
* Looking for someone who is employed on a full-time basis or a graduate/PhD student, with income of at least 40x the rent ($34K), with income verification available. No guarantors. (Income verification not asked for until/unless we decide to go forward with being roommates.)
* Available March 15th (preferable) to April 1st (possible). Prefer one-year commitment.
